Every Kopal piece is a celebration of the traditional crafts that have been preserved by generations of artisans in India.  But understanding why we make our product, to us, is just as important as understanding how we make it—as well as the effects and benefits that each Kopal garment creates.
Born and raised in India, Kopal's mission is to empower, sustain, and create livelihoods in the rural villages in India in which she works.
Spending 4–6 months a year in India, Kopal works hand in hand with artisans in villages to make each and every piece.  From partnerships with Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), the Widows of Vrindavan, to working with all natural dyes and fabrics and antique traditions, Kopal is working to create a sustainable and impactful clothing line—one piece at a time.

EMPOWERMENT
It is our job to empower each other with ways to sustain ourselves.  It has become our moral duty to live a life in which we can save our traditions, take a step back to a slower time with quality products that last longer, waste less, and create livelihoods.
OUR MISSION
Profit isn't and shouldn't be the mission of business.  The mission of business is to help people.  To help your customers, your co-workers, your employees, and your partners.  Success is not a number—it's a measurement of value.  It is families holding onto the art of handwork as inheritance and passing it down.  People may say that artisan craftsmanship is outdated, however reducing this craftsmanship in favour of factory production leads to an extinction of cultural and historical practices.  By losing traditional skills, we lose a piece of history and a part of our humanity.
